Paul Wood

Senior Designer

Paul is a Senior Designer at AW-ARCH, with a background in both architecture and engineering. His interests in materiality and in the impact of site characteristics on a design's development are evident in his experience with housing, planning, and community-based projects. He is an insightful communicator, with research and teaching experience at the  graduate level.


Paul received his M.Arch. from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois, with a focus in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering.

Alex Anmahian, AIA

Alex Anmahian co-founded AW–ARCH in 1992. For more than 30 years, the firm has completed a broad range of notable institutional, commercial, and residential projects in the US and abroad. Alex and co-founder Nick Winton direct the design of all projects at AW, including buildings, art installations, industrial objects, and furniture. The firm's work has been published widely and has been awarded the highest honors within the design industry.

In addition to AW's practice, Alex teaches, lectures, and serves as visiting critic at leading design schools, both nationally and internationally. He has served on the Board of ArchitectureBoston magazine, on the Board of Directors of the Boston Architectural College, and on the Board of Directors of the Boston Society of Architects, including as its Commissioner of Design.

Alex received an M.Arch. from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, thesis with distinction, and a B.A. in Architecture from the University of Florida.
